1/ Les 2 types

- Le moins connu… mais le plus fréquent
- Vous l’avez déjà fait
- Un enfant tombe, s’égratigne et tous lui dite « c’est pas si grave »
- « T’es un homme, t’es costaud »
- Ce n’est pas la réalité, l’enfant a mal, mais vous voulez lui apprendre à gérer ses émotions

- Celui qui est malsain
- Vous faites une randonnée et vous dites « là c’était la partie la plus simple », mais l’autre est déjà en grosse difficulté
- « Cet exercice était simple » mais l’autre a déjà du mal
- Là c’est du vrai gaslighting, parce que l’autre se remet en question sur sa réalité, sur lui même
- « Qu’est-ce qui cloche avec moi ? »
2/ Les phases

- Doutes
- « J’ai surement mal entendu »
- « Cette personne n’a pas voulu me faire du mal »
- « Elle n’a pas du le faire exprès »
- A ce stade, tout va bien, tu es droit !

- Défense
- Tu commences à y croire
- Tu te justifies
- Tu cherches des preuves pour montrer que tu as raison
- Tu en parler autours de toi, pour vérifier que tu as raison

- Dépression
- Ça commence à t’affecter
- Perte de confiance en soi
- Tu ne sais plus qui croire

3/ Des exemples dans le couple

- Vient d’un film de 1944
- Mensonges
- Ils montent les gens contre vous
- Ils nient, même devant la preuve évidente du contraire
- « Tu ne m’as jamais prêté d’argent »

- « Je n’ai jamais dit ça, tu inventes »
- Ou « j’ai aucun souvenir d’avoir dit ça »
- Ce serait possible
- Mais ça arrive souvent, sur des sujets importants
- Mémoire sélective
- Du coup tu remets en cause tes propres souvenirs

- « Tu es trop sensible »
- Par rapport à toi ?
- Et par rapport aux autres ?
- Connais-tu vraiment ma situation ?

- « Je ne suis pas fâché »
- Alors qu’ils le sont clairement
- Je sais ce que je vois et c’est l’inverse de ce que j’entends

- « C’est de ta faute »
- Tout ce qu’il leur arrive
- Perte d’emploi
- Tromperie

- « Tu as un problème »
- « Il n’y a rien qui cloche chez moi, tu ne vas pas bien »
- « Tu es fou/folle »
- « Tu délires »
- « Tu devrais aller voir un psy »
- Et lui ne se remet jamais en cause

- « Personne ne t’aime »
- « Tu as bien de la chance d’être avec moi »
- « Tes amis te critiquent beaucoup » (mais ne révèle rien)

- « C’est petit »
- « C’est faible »
- « Tu te comportes comme un gamin »
- Ils te fatiguent tellement, par la répétition d’un problème, que tu finis par exploser pour des petites choses
- On te pousse à bout
- Et il te fait remarquer que t’es énervé pour un rien

- « C’est juste une blague »
- « Je plaisante »
- « T’as pas le sens de l’humour »
- Surtout sur les sujets importants pour toi, et ils rient

- « Tu es trop jaloux »
- Tout est fait pour te rendre jaloux
- Et quand tu réagis
- « Tu manques d’assurance, de confiance »
4/ Que faire ?

- Partir !
- Ce sera toujours de pire en pire
- Au début, imperceptible

Natalie is a two time Canadian Comedy Award winner and a mainstage alumni of the Second City Toronto.
