최근 차와 버블티를 전문으로 하는 식음료 업체 ‘공차’에서 당도 0%의 초당 옥수수 신메뉴를 발표했습니다. 달달한 옥수수를 원료로 하기 때문에 당도 조절 없이도 고당도 수준의 단 맛을 내는 것으로 유명합니다.

초당 옥수수 외에도 달달한 토망고(토마토+망고), 씨 없는 수박, 파란 딸기 등 우리 주변엔 이미 대표적인 GM 푸드들이 식탁 위를 차지하고 있습니다. 이 식품들을 모두 유전자 조작 식품으로 규정하는데, 도대체 GMO는 무엇일까요?
