Next, start focusing on people, places and things where you feel ease and happiness. This will help your brain think better and feel better, so you can have better reactions. Lastly, take responsibility not to get pulled in anymore. That could mean going into therapy, having a mantra you always repeat when you feel triggered by them, working on your self-esteem, or working on your self-compassion. You have to take responsibility. Remember, you can change you, but you can't change them.
