I reached out to Cosmic Gate for a collab after they did an amazing job on remix duty for my tracks ‘This World Is Watching Me’ and ‘Rain’. The result was ‘Embargo’ – one of the three instrumental tracks on my ‘Embrace’ album – and I’m still really proud of that track. I played it a lot in the summers of 2015 and 2016, often as a mash-up with ‘Strong Ones’ (feat. Cimo Fränkel).

Armin van Buuren finally unleashes his new artist album ‘BALANCE’. As stated by Armin van Buuren, the album is about thinking in possibilities rather than definition, thinking about what music could be instead of what it should be. “Every song I make teaches me something new, and the next song is always a result of all my previous records, the new things I learned and the people I met”, the world-renowned DJ and producer says in the foreword of his album. “Over the years, this process - and especially the fun of creating - became more and more important to me. It’s a journey that gives me meaning and helps me learn more about my personal interests rather than focus on the recognition I get for the outcome. That’s the big difference between who I am today and who I was a few years ago. 'BALANCE' is a new chapter in my book of life, the result of venturing into known and unknown territories while finding the balance in between. This creative journey gives me the energy to do what I do, to keep going. I don’t want to think about what music should be. I want to think about what music could be."

‘Overture’ was a special, 15-minute track I made for ‘The Best Of Armin Only’. It was a combination of the four intro tracks from my artist albums ‘Imagine’, ‘Mirage’, ‘Embrace’ and ‘Intense’. I also added in a few touches from ‘Sail’, which was one of the two opening tracks of my ’10 Years’ album, the other being ‘Hymne’. ‘Overture’ took up the first 15 minutes of the four-hour ‘The Best Of Armin Only’ show. This weekend, the entire dance scene had its eyes and ears focused on Miami. Next to the DJ's and clubbers enjoying the stunning shores and sandy white beaches, Miami also offered one of the absolute highlights in the career of Armin van Buuren. At the Ultra Music Festival, he had his very own A State of Trance 550 stage and celebration. And what a celebration it was!
