Genetically modified crops are grown around the world by approximately 17 million farmers, most of them in developing countries.
In Africa, seven countries either grow or import GMO crops. But Kenya has been engulfed in debate pertaining to their safety, following the lifting of a ban on the cultivation and importation of genetically modified crops and animal feed in response to a biting drought.
