GASLIGHTING 101: When A Covert Narcissist's Gaslighting Strategy Fails // The term gaslighting is based off of a gaslighting movie circa 1944. This gaslighting short film involves a classic gaslighting narcissist and his agenda to cause his wife to think she’s going crazy.


Although gaslighting relationships often happen in the context of intimate or romantic relationships, in reality, you can just as easily experience gaslighting at work, as well as find yourself struggling with your gaslighting parents.

Often, you’ll find the person attempting to gaslight you may be a covert narcissist. Like for example, your covert narcissist mother or your covert narcissist husband.

In fact, among other covert narcissist signs, one of the major red flags of covert narcissism in relationships is gaslighting.
