Che cos'è il gaslighting? Si tratta di una forma di manipolazione mentale agita tra persone molto intime tra loro. Solitamente avviene tra partner di lungo corso, anche marito e moglie.

Il termine deriva da una manifestazione teatrale del '38 in cui il marito alterava l'intensità delle lampade a gas per poi dare della matta alla moglie che, accorgendosene, gli chiedeva se fosse opera sua.

In sostanza questa manipolazione consiste nel dare disconferma di una oggettività volta a far dubitare la persona del proprio buonsenso e della propria sicurezza. Sono meccanismi di negazione della realtà che fanno leva sull'insicurezza della persona, portandola a mettere in discussione la sua salute mentale.

Per quale motivo il gaslighting viene agito da un partner col quale si ha un rapporto molto intimo e di lunga durata?
1) volontà di manipolare l'altra persona allo scopo di renderla una persona dipendente
2) tentativo di vendetta in caso di delusione

Le gaslighting, c'est LA forme de manipulation mentale la plus dangereuse, car si vous n'êtes pas « instruits », si je peux dire, à la repérer, alors vous ne la voyez venir que lorsqu'il est trop tard. Le manipulateur a déjà détruit votre structure mentale, ne laissant dans votre esprit que des doutes, des peurs, de la culpabilité, et des questionnements obsessionnels. Et en plus, le manipulateur a besoin d'être assez... proche de vous pour l'opérer. Donc, c'est souvent un membre de votre entourage qui vous détruit à petit feu sans même que vous ne le soupçonniez, et pourtant, ça se passe juste là, sous vos yeux...

Gaslighting comes in many forms such as blatant lies, denying, using what you love against you, words versus actions and so much more. 5 Signs Someone is Gaslighting You / Here are 5 signs that someone might be gaslighting you. One is that you're always second guessing yourself. You have trouble making decisions because you keep questioning your thoughts and your feelings. Two is that you get told a lot that you're too “something” -- too selfish, too sensitive, too emotional. Three is that you're always apologizing. You find yourself apologizing constantly in this relationship. Four is you often are making excuses with other people for that person's behavior or maybe you're covering for them. And five is that you know something's wrong, you've known it for a while, but you just can't put your finger on it. If you're seeing any of these signs, someone might be gaslighting you.
