Kenya lifts ban on GMO crops
Kenya's government has just reversed a 10 year ban on genetically modified organism (GMO) crops. The move means that farmers will now be allowed to cultivate and import food crops and animal feed produced through biotechnological innovations. The development has stirred debate in the country as experts debate on the benefits and risks in the GMO crops.
CGTN’s Uche Okoronkwo discussed this decision with Dr. Margaret Karembu, a Director at the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications.
